This Week on Da Charts – Da Albums (by Mive Content)

Here we go GoJu Nation. Another week, another chart listing for the people. Its been an interesting couple of weeks since the Grammy’s. With the passing of Whitney Houston creating a purchase frenzy, with new artists getting their say so along with the established ones making sure they aren’t forgotten in today’s landscape, it has created an interesting mix of albums making their mark. The most important thing that I take from this weeks listing is that demographic pockets of fans exist that seemingly follow artists in a way that mainstream has yet to quantify.  What that creates is projects like WZRD audibly popping out of nowhere to make a serious dent on da charts. Well that’s the beginning, lets see what else da charts have to offer…

Yo, 1st and foremost the Adele behemoth has yet to show signs of slowing down.  She’s as close to 8 million records in today’s environment?!?!?.  If you take economic entities into play and compare, she is getting in that rarefied air with iconic albums like ‘The Joshua Tree‘, ‘Supernatural‘ and ‘Off The Wall‘ and a diamond album is not out of the scope this year.  Lets see where this goes. Project to watch:  GOTYE. With the 3rd album being the charm they have released ‘Making Mirrors‘ & have set the soc net world ablaze. In the past few weeks it isn’t weird to see a post attaching a GOTYE video to it with a raving review.  Again with those demographic pockets. And lastly a “recog” (shout out for the less informed) to Luke Bryan, Tyga & Young Jeezy who all have exceded album and buzz expectations with their latest projects.  Status update finished.
