~Mive Content – Just to keep you in the know GoJu Nation.  This is another case of using the reality show vehicle as a platform to jump-start a career.  I’m not knocking the hustle per se but I am letting you know to be aware that the judges are now overshadowing the contestants by promoting their projects when they could/should be helping/encouraging the fledgling new comers. Food for thought.  If there was no “The Voice” would Miss Aguilera be promoting a new project by performing two of her singles on the show.  I’m not sayin, I’m just SAYING.  Now fan favorite Q’ban is here with the review of Christina’s newest album “Lotus”…

The dog is back with his long awaited album, “Undisputed”. The big questions are, could we have waited longer?… Should he even do an album? “X” returns to us going indie, f#ck the majors because they didn’t understand him. Hmm… after listening to the latest installment, I get why they didn’t.

In 2011 – 12.4 million viewers. In 2012 – 6.1 million. That’s the discrepancy in viewership for the MTV Awards this past Thursday. This award show has been the official 12-34 demographic last hurrah before the school season is officially in full swing. And the stars seemed to be aligned for a successful broadcast. We had Kevin Hart (who is the current “it” comedian) hosting. We had Kanye West & Kim Kardashian making a public appearance. Wiz Khalifa & Kanye’s ex Amber Rose made a public baby bump announcement also. And let’s not forget Rihanna & Chris Brown sitting next to each other. What could go wrong? GothamJungle has some theories…

“What you wanna do. Wanna be a baller, shot caller, brawler?” – P.Diddy – ‘It’s All About The Benjamin’s’ – No Way Out (1997). Fifteen years ago and the sentiment of that rap classic still rings true. Basically, because of the slow recovering job market along with rising cost of living, options are few. And if you’re relying on the Government for relief, you’ll see for them it’s all about the Benjamin’s. So with the election less than 2 months away, both parties have officially stepped to the plate with political prowess looking to get your vote.

Unquestionably, YouTube has been one of the 21st century phenomenons that has become a social stable. You can’t visually stay relevant unless YouTube is inclusive in your plan. It brings your creative vision closer to the public and if your blessed to go viral, it can change your lifestyle. What GothamJungle loves about YouTube is the graying of the entertainment playing field. An aspiring actor can potentially receive just as many views as an award-winning thespian or reality show participant.

There have been plenty of boutique labels that have made major marks in this industry. The current “Def Jam” appears to be Cash Money/Young Money records.  They have the artists, the pedigree, the sales & the longevity that lends to its leaders being real executives. But to keep that generational relevance there needs to be some sort of corporate rules. A step by step booklet for you to get.  I’m a firm believer that YMCMB is at risk. Here is why…. “Hero Complex” – an inherent desire to help others. It is a compulsion to help make their world right. Add in a healthy dose of ego and this is what Cash Money/Young Money is suffering from….
