Hump day means album charts.  Right GoJu Nation? I got em for you and we have some nice developments.  Lets get into it. Not a surprise that Britney Spears has the #1 album this week. We reviewed the album a couple of weeks ago and deemed it officially the next pop album that you should have in your catalog. Moving over 275K in a debut week is very sexy as well. It seems almost a lifetime ago when Miss Spears was 1 step away from completely breaking down and being Lindsay Lohan‘s BFF. But it seems that her father (who she has a hate hate love relationship) and the love of her boys has her back on track and she’s making music that’s very indicative of that.

I’ve been getting a few comments to keep this chart live and consistent so I’m giving it to you earlier than normal this week. GoJu nation the chart that breathes life into the music industry is here…. the digi-singles.  When you have over 11 singles moving over 100k in downloads, that’s the lifeline.  It is the focus and leading the way this week is Wiz Khalifa with his current single ‘No Sleep”.  If you’re wondering if ‘Black & Yellow‘ was a one hit wonder for the Pittsburgh native, think again.  he’s officially arrived and he just might be this generations Snoop Dogg. Let’s check back on that one in about 10-15 years and see how many classics are in his stable.  But he’s off to a great start and his online presence is off the charts so it gonna be very interesting when the album drops (in stores/online NOW).

~Mive Content – I’m a Faith Evans fan. Vocally, it doesn’t get more R&B than Faith.  She’s also a writer 1st which makes her vocal prowess even more impressive.  She’s about to embark on her 1st solo album in the independent realm and I figured I’d let our resident producer, Kyle West, give us some perspective. He’s gonna break down 2 songs -  from her classic past to her present.  So, without further ado – Mr. West.

Here we are GoJu Nation, the chart that seems to count more than any other at this point.  Da-Digi-Singles. And it starts with Katy Perry.  She seems to have nailed the 1st official summer anthem with California Gurls (feat Snoop Dogg).  With a sound that’s very now pop (Ke$ha/Lady Gaga etc.) she’s off and running.  Her performance at this weeks MTV Movie Awards didn’t hurt her either.

They have flip-flopped for the past couple of weeks.  But this week Katy Perry feat. Snoop Dogg with “California Gurls” tops Usher and Will.i.Am‘s “OMG”.  Both records speak directly to today’s pop market and don’t disappoint their fan base.  In this singles driven market both singles are well received.

Now this chart is a comfortable place to be.  No panicking here.  Singles are selling in droves. And if you can find a place on this chart, you can live here for a while.  No questions asked. Katy Perry and her #1 single download with Snoop Dogg is living here.  Lady Gaga, Train and Jason DeRulo can also attest.  They’ve been sitting on this chart for at least 23 weeks.  That a minimum of 5 months people. Twitter accounts don’t last that long. Now if we can only get these labels to catch up to their hit singles with the video.
