Yes GoJu Nation we have da album charts… And yes GoJu Nation things overall from a sales perspective are still declining. The number 1 album in the country? Only 95k this week.. The number 20 album in the country? 12.2k this week…. It’s like a cemetery at night, all bones and no meat. I feel like a jerk proclaiming earlier this year that this chart may be experiencing a renaissance.  At this rate I’ll be writing this charts obituary if this doesn’t change.  I predict that at this pace in the next 3 to 5 yrs albums will fall the way of the vinyl album.  They will still make them but only the cream of the crop will be available. Let’s see if we can find something positive to report this week.

New Year, new numbers and we’re finally back to earth. Sales numbers overall have dropped over 50% but, nothing to panic about.  This happens every year the week after the holidays are over.  So we fall back & focus on the now.  Susan Boyle is still Queen on top as there aren’t any new entries in the top 20.  Another 100K+ for Ms. Boyle as she has now moved over 3M plus in less than 2 months (miraculous recession proof #’s).  We didn’t get to speak about MJB’s opening week with it being Christmas but Mary is close to 400K after 2 weeks.   She looking “Stronger” as the title suggests.  Alicia Keys is shining so far.  Singles are blah but the album is good so, her album is moving.  As well as Alvin & the Chipmunks (which the 1st album was platinum +) & Young Money (which is decent at best with Lil Wayne at the helm). Okay I’ll let you breathe from there.   Lalonne/Max have a Happy New Year. GoJu Nation we’re off and running.  Watch us grow. 1

As always, here at GJ your gonna find qualitative information that’s relevant to you.  And we realize how valuable that is to our core consumer.  With that being said, we have the tentative release dates for the more prominent artists for the rest of the year.  Remember 4th quarter releases are vital to the survival of the record label.  Knowing that you tend to see bigger names this time of the year.  There will be additional information (Re: this 4th quarter concept) coming soon.  We’ll add albums everyday.  Click the album covers for additional info.   Here’s October/November…. 1!
